The Garden Walk
The botanical walk at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center includes a selection of proven plant performers for mid-Atlantic landscapes displayed along a flowing bluestone walkway. Designed for multiple seasons of interest, the larger landscape collection at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center features stately trees and a blend of evergreen and deciduous, native and exotic shrubs, groundcovers and perennials. Interpretive tours of the full collection are available through arrangement with the center's horticulturist. A full spectrum of specimen trees and shrubs adorn the grounds, and visitors are encouraged to peruse the collection at leisure.
A Variety of Vegetation
A European copper beech tree graces the landscape at the entrance of the center. European beech trees are among the finest specimen trees found in public gardens. These large trees offer year-round beauty and bountiful homes and food for a wide array of wildlife, including insects, birds and the "campus favorite," squirrels.
