Abundant opportunities exist to gain a
deeper understanding of the Arboretum and Botanic Garden and our campus
community through investment of personal time and energy. From horticultural
tasks that directly nurture the landscape such as weeding, raking and pruning,
to engaging visitors with tales of campus trees and sustainability initiatives,
to working with our IPM specialist or participating on a tree advisory panel or
in design discussions, the possibilities for engagement in your surroundings are
blooming. Campus-wide events are held for large scale projects such as rain
garden rejuvenation, invasive plant control and large plantings, but
opportunities are endless for the individual or small group with interest in a
particular area or task. Experiences related to your academic discipline are
often available as well. You may email
